Long trips

Playing for Slask in Wroclaw means one thing one away games. A LONG BUS TRIP!!!!

I swear these bus trips we take are like driving all over Europe. Thank GOD the weather has been real good this year and that helps with the time, but combined with the Polish roads and wear Wroclaw is located with the other teams in the league there are long trips. The bus trips are made much better by our bus though. Our owner, who has been great to us, went out and got a nice bus and made some changes with it to help us. They took out some seats so there would be more leg room, put flat screen tv's in it and it has electricity. Therefore there are many options on the bus trips, we always have movies, you can use the internet or you can get into a card game and watch Radek Hyzy and Marcin Stefanski lose their money to Coach Urlep. These changes to the bus really help pass the time with the long trips.

Saturday against Kotwica there was a play that has fans asking me to write about what happend. Early in the 4th quarter we were assessed a technical foul because we had 5 foreign players on the court and no polish players. I think this is a good rule for the polish players. It protects them and makes sure there are jobs for the polish players in Poland. You look at Germany and they have no rules with teams having sometimes 10 foreign players. I think that there should always be a place in your country for you to play and this helps keep those jobs open. I am not sure the penalty is correct, because we did not make the play on purpose it was a mistake. Therefore they should stop the game and make us put a different player on the court, not a technical foul. Just one more thing for a coach and his staff to be aware of during the game.

I know many Slask fans want me to write about the game on Friday vs Prokom. I understand it is a big game for the fans. I know the tickets were sold out last week and the excitement is very high. You must understand though, that it is only December. What happens in this game really will mean nothing at the end of the year. What I mean is, if we beat them does that automatically mean we are going to be in the finals, no far from it because we have a long way to go and improve if we are going to get close to the finals. Prokom is also playing in the Euroleague right now and they are trying to make the top 16, and they are dealing with injured players. Don't get me wrong this is the type of game every player likes (no loves) to play in and the atmosphere will be amazing on Friday. We as players are just trying to keep it in perspective though. I look forward to seeing everyone on Friday in Orbita. Have a good week.
