GKK Arka oficjalnie poinformował o podpisaniu kontraktu z Mateuszem Ponitką, który dotychczas występował w ekipie AZS Politechniki Warszawskiej. Młody koszykarz być może zadebiutuje już w najbliższym meczu Asseco Prokomu z Anwilem Włocławek.

Ponitka is one of the most talented young generation players in Poland. He was one of the best players in Polish National Team in U17 World Championships in 2010 in Hamburg. Born in 1993 Ponitka was playing this season in AZS Politechnika Warszawska in Tauron Basket Liga. He averaged 13,6 points and 4,6 rebounds a game. The young talent can play as a shooting guard and as a small forward on the court.
